Five months since our last update, and progress at the next phase of the six-structure Concord Gardens in Richmond has been moving along nicely. The next two structures to be built have long since topped off, with cladding and glazing work now nearing completion.

Located at the corner of Garden City Road and Sea Island Way, the Concord Gardens mega-development is representative of Richmond's ongoing urban transformation. Close to the airport, SkyTrain, and freeway, along with the many big box stores and restaurants that populate the neighbourhood, the development is well-situated for both commuters and those looking for a mix of urban and suburban living.

The six-structure Concord Gardens by Concord Pacific and GBL Architects will eventually consist of 1,200 units, thereby bringing a total influx of residents up to 2,000 strong. The current phase, comprised of two structures at 15 and 16 storeys apiece will help bring the development closer to completion.

Concord Gardens will soon be a neighbourhood unto itself. Amenities will include a pool, fitness centre, and theatre, spread across 25,000 square feet, joined outside by an additional 75,000 square feet of paths, parks, and and a play area for children.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
