Not to be outdone by the soaring towers of The Amazing Brentwood and the Solo District, Concord Pacific is launching a multi-tower development of its own across the street from the revitalized Brentwood mall. A 25-acre site abutting Lougheed Parkway will give way to a masterplanned community by architect James K.M. Cheng that will see the construction of 11 residential towers and ground-level retail development.

The first two towers in Concord Brentwood — Hillside West — launched in May 2016 with 896 units. Cheng's design suspends the residential towers above the treeline to create an airy forecourt and landscaped welcome for residents. V-shaped columns anchor the building to the ground and unveil a soffit finished in wood-like cladding. Glazed balconies and exposed slab edges define the rectilinear expression of the buildings. Straddling two levels is the expansive amenities program, which includes a fitness centre, theatre room, music room, multi-purpose games room, entertainment lounge and rooftop terrace.

The next two towers — Hillside East — will complete the four that hug Lougheed Parkway. The 55- and 45-storey highrises designed by Francl Architecture takes the language of the inaugural buildings and puts a literal twist on it, with curving balconies forming the exterior architecture.

Both Hillside East towers are similarly lifted beyond the treetops to reveal a dramatic vertical space underneath. Amenities here include a media room, fitness centre, entertainment lounge and outdoor terrace, mainly located on the ground floor.
