Since the last summer photo update, Belford Properties' Sun Towers at Metrotown development has grown substantially and now boasts multiple rows of glazing. Replacing two low-slung residential blocks, the pair of highrise towers will boast 479 one-, two- and three-bedroom homes between them.
Recent images from the site at Beresford Street and Silver Avenue in Burnaby capture the extent of window wall installation on the main 41-storey volume, which is still early in its climb.
The podium of the IBI Group-designed project is also now being clad, with vertical strips of beige, orange and brown affixed to the curtain wall. Located just across the street from Metrotown Skytrain station, the podium's retail and office space will be easily accessible from across the Lower Mainland.
The podium will also house much of the project's common areas, which include a regulation-size badminton court and a multi-course golf simulator for residents looking to keep active. A fitness and wellness centre join a rooftop sky garden equipped with a barbecue and outdoor dining area as the other signature amenities being offered.
SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
