Just over a year since our last update, and progress at ViewStar has moved ahead significantly. What was then little more than a barren build site has blossomed into a crop of high-density towers, the first phase of the 11-structure project moving towards completion.

Perched upon the banks of the Fraser River in Richmond, the multi-hectare ViewStar mega-development will be a neighbourhood unto itself. Well over 1,000 residents will one day call ViewStar home, the full build out to include 850 units.

Designed by W. T. Leung Architects for Yuanheng Holdings, ViewStar features ample amounts of glass curtain wall, the geometry of which has been artfully broken up here and there through the use of rounded balcony plates. Adding further to the visual interest on-site, the irregular lot, as well as the generously-sized green spaces between structures, has made for a pleasing arrangement of towers and mid-rises.

Set to encompass three distinct phases, each with their own specific configurations, densities, and uses, ViewStar will be a transformative project for the Vancouver suburb.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
