A little more than three months since our last update, and excavation work at the massive, multi-tower ViewStar site in Richmond has been moving along smoothly. Remarkable for the use of gigantic stone block retaining walls, the project has caught the eye of locals with what has been dubbed the "Great Wall" of Richmond.

Used both to hold back, and in some cases crush the soil for stability purposes as it is removed from the excavation site, the stone blocks have succeeded in giving the neighbourhood a distinctive appearance.

Viewed below, the site plan for the development highlights the large scope of the project, ViewStar to be built in three distinct phases, culminating in the construction of 11 separate towers.

Centered around a common, 130,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor amenity space and park, ViewStar will provide residents with a welcoming, neighbourhood feel. Once complete, ViewStar will become one of the largest developments of its type in the region.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
