Two months since our last update, and progress at Transca Development's Polaris in Burnaby has moved ahead by leaps and bounds. What was then little more than an excavation pit has blossomed into a fully-fledged build site, complete with heavy machinery, concrete and rebar, and a bright red crane base.

Shooting off from its base at 6699 Dunblane Ave in Metrotown, Burnaby's newest rising star will eventually rocket to a near-celestial height of 36-storeys. Close thus to the Metrotown Town Centre, Kingsway, and the Royal Oak SkyTrain, the 313-unit project will one day be home to over 400 inhabitants.

Units will range in price from the $700k-$1.7 million, with square footage coming in at anywhere between 600-1,600. Amenities will include a car share service, electric car charging stations, bicycle storage, a fitness centre, community garden, and an outdoor terrace with fire pit.

Set for completion by 2021, it will be some time yet before Polaris reaches full orbit. Until then, however, we will be sure to check in on its progress as the development continues its ascent.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
