Five months since our last update, and progress at Onni Group's 1335 Howe Street high-rise development has moved steadily ahead. Most dramatically, the structure has now reached grade, the tower to eventually rise 40 storeys above street level.

Nestled between Davie Village and Yaletown, in the heart of the city, 1335 Howe Street will no doubt be a prime address for urban professionals upon its completion. The future home to upwards of 300 residents, the 12-unit tower will bring a great deal of urban vibrancy to the local streetscape.

Composed primarily of a large residential tower sat upon a wide, 6-storey podium base, the former to be home to condos, the latter to rental apartments with retail at grade, 1335 Howe Street has been planned as a mixed-use project. Par for the course for developments such as these, however, the inclusion of a segregated entryway  - one for owners and another for renters - has placed this project in the spotlight.

"Poor Door" or not, 1335 Howe Street will be a fine addition to the core, its prime location, and amenity-rich offerings to (perhaps) make up for the aforementioned oversight.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
