Two months since our last update, and progress at Promenade at The Quay in North Vancouver has been moving along swiftly. Cladding is all but complete upon the 14-storey mixed-use structure which now stands tall at the foot of Lonsdale Quay.
Built adjacent to the Lonsdale Quay Market, the 117-unit, mixed-use tower and podium base has commanded a large presence close to the heart of the North Vancouver waterfront. Designed by Main Street Architecture for Polygon Homes, Promenade at The Quay features a mix of white and grey, the tower light and airy, its base relatively heavier and earthy in appearance and materials.
Taking up a full block of prime real esate, with commercial frontage upon both West Esplanade and Carrie Cates Court, Promenade at The Quay has eked out a large piece of the city. Furthermore, owing to its perpendicular massing, with the tower at a 90-degree angle to its base, the project has both a large and small visual footprint, depending on the observer's vantage point.
Soon to become home to upwards of 150 residents, alongside a collection of retail tenants, the project is on target to assume the role of a bustling downtown hub. Close as well to the waterfront and downtown ferry, the project will no doubt be a popular address for years to come.
SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
