A month since we last checked in at Boffo Developments' The Smithe, and progress upon the podium level has moved considerably forward. Over and above the multi-storey podium, the first crop of rebar has sprouted, signalling that it will not be long now before the main tower portion of the 27-storey development begins its ascent.

The 5-storey podium will be comprised of a single retail level at grade, followed by 3 storeys of office space, and a 4,000 sq. ft. 5th-floor amenity deck. The roof of the podium will serve as a landing pad for a large outdoor terrace complete with trees, other greenery, and seating.

As for the tower, the relatively skinny residential high-rise will be home to just 97 units, with space for approximately 125 residents. Set for completion by 2020, The Smithe will bring a new set of faces to the corner of Smithe and Cambie, with direct access to the sights and sounds of Yaletown.
