Three months since our last update, and progress at 510 W Broadway has moved forward significantly. Crews have dug deep, the excavation pit now appearing to be at least two or three storeys below grade.

The former home of Original Joe's has given way to a large pit, the site of which will eventually become a 7-storey mixed-use commercial structure by Yorkson Investment Company Ltd., Pacific Crown Management, and W. T. Leung Architects. Located at the corner of Broadway and Cambie, the new development will be conveniently situated close to transit (Broadway-City Hall Station), shops, restaurants, and other services.

As for the development itself, the first two floors will be devoted to retail and dining, with a bank taking up residence at street level, and a restaurant to fill out most of the second floor. Floors 3-7 will be occupied by a handful of commercial tenants, the project's central location to be a major draw for those in the market for downtown office space.

510 W Broadway will not be short for amenities either, the development to include a large rooftop terrace upon the third and fourth floors, an indoor fitness centre on the third floor, 79 underground parking spots, and 12 bike stalls. Furthermore, the completed project is on target to receive LEED Gold certification owing to its use of high-efficiency glass and sun shades.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
