Just little more than a month since our last update, and progress at the future build site for 510 W Broadway has advanced significantly, as crews move to clear the site ahead of excavation. Set to replace the 2-storey former home of Orignal Joe's, the new 7-storey mixed-use commercial structure by Yorkson Investment Company Ltd., Pacific Crown Management, and W. T. Leung Architects, will offer a fresh offering of retail, office, and restaurant options.

Located at the apex of Broadway and Cambie, the new development will host a mix of retail and a financial institution (with space on the 2nd floor as well) at ground level, with frontage onto both streets. A sizable restaurant space will take up the bulk of the 2nd floor, leaving floors 3-7 for commercial office tenants.

Well-situated close to transit (via the Broadway-City Hall SkyTrain Station), and just steps from two bustling commercial corridors, 510 W Broadway will be ideally located for all of its proposed clientele. Nonetheless, for those that prefer to drive, there will be 79 underground parking spaces, and 12 bike stalls, to be split across 2 levels.

Building amenities will include a fitness centre on the 3rd floor, in addition to a range of outdoor patio spaces to be placed at various levels across the height of the structure. 510 W Broadway is on target to achieve LEED Gold certification, owing largely to its incorporation of high-quality glazing and sun shades - to say nothing of its planned living gardens set to grace each of the aforementioned rooftop terraces.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
