A month since our last update, and demolition crews have made fast work of the Original Joe's that long stood at the corner of Broadway and Cambie. The future home of 510 W Broadway, by Yorkson Investment Company Ltd, Pacific Crown Management, and W.T. Leung Architects, the seven-storey mixed-use commercial structure will eventually become home to a combination of retail, restaurant, and office space.

Retail and a financial institution (with space on the 2nd floor as well) will take up the ground floor with frontage onto both Broadway and Cambie. The second floor will contain a large restaurant, leaving floors three to seven for office space.

510 W Broadway will be well-served by transit, sitting just steps away from the Broadway-City Hall SkyTrain station. For those who drive, there will be 79 spaces available underground, in addition to room for 12 bikes, divided across two subterranean levels.

Amenities will include a fitness centre on the third floor, and a series of outdoor patios to be spread across the height of the structure. The devleopment is on target to receive LEED Gold certification due to its use of high quality glazing and sun shades. All in all, the loss of Original Joe's will likely be little felt once this project is complete.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
