Three months since we last checked in at the site of Elenore on Fifth in Mount Pleasant, and progress has been moving along well. The 8-storey mixed-use mid-rise by Chard Development and Proscenium Architecture is now topped off, and cladding work has begun.

The bulk of the development will be home to upwards of 75 residents spread across 58 units, while the bottom two floors will be devoted to retail. To this end, the multi-bay retail base of the project is low and wide, with frontage upon both Main St and E 5th Ave.

Well-located at the corner of E 5th Ave and Main, the project will bring a great deal of pedestrian vibrancy to the Main St corridor. Connected to the rest of the city via the Main St bus route, and walking distance to both W 2nd Ave to the north, and W Broadway to the south, Elenore on Fifth will have something for everyone.

Arranged as two distinct volumes, the mid-rise tower and podium base have been set perpendicular to one another, thereby allowing for both a setback from the street, and a minimum of disruption in terms of shadows and views. Once complete, Elenore on Fifth will be a fine addition to the neighbourhood.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
