Two months since our last update, and progress at the 8-storey Elenore on Fifth mid-rise development in Mount Pleasant has been moving steadily along. Close to topping off as the structure has now reached its 6th storey, the mixed-use, 58-unit Elenore on Fifth will soon be home to upwards of 75 residents perched above a row of ground floor retail.

As the name suggests, Elenore on Fifth will be located at the corner of E 5th Ave and Main, thereby allowing for a great deal of street presence along the bustling Main Street commercial corridor. To this end, the double-height retail podium, which will host a cafe and other retail uses, will serve the area well.

Adding some visual interest, in addition to reducing the structure's immediate impact on its surroundings, the bulk of the Proscenium Architecture-designed project by Chard Developments will sit almost perpendicular to its base. Beyond allowing the the 2-storey retail podium to not be overwhelmed by the 6-storey residential component above, this arrangement will allow for excellent views for the majority of residents.

Well-located close to transit, shops, restaurants, bars, and other local services, Elenore on Fifth will likely be a popular address for those looking to live in a popular, bustling downtown neighbourhood.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
