Tate Downtown has now reached completion just six weeks since our last update. The 40-storey, 333-unit, residential high-rise by Bonds Group and Merrick Architecture will soon welcome upwards of 500 residents over the next several weeks, as work has now wrapped up on the project.

Situated at the corner of Davie and Howe Streets, Tate Downtown will be a prime address for the city's many artistic, creative types, its name evocative, of course, of the famous Tate Gallery in London. Close thus to many of the city's premier private galleries, Tate Downtown was created to capture the city's artistic imagination.

Taking its name seriously, Tate Downtown will include a 10,000 sq. ft. studio and gallery space at its base, which will hold special showings and art events within. Furthermore, owing to the inclusion of ample curtain wall glass, natural light will be readily available, thereby providing the ideal conditions for creative pursuits.

As for amenity space, a 2,100 sq.-ft. fitness centre will be joined by a lounge, private dining room with chef's kitchen, and a 5,200 sq.-ft. rooftop terrace. Now complete, Tate Downtown will be a fine addition to the core, the development to foster the city's ever-expanding local arts scene.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
