Seven months since we last checked in at Gold House in Burnaby, and the two-tower development by Rize Alliance and Chirs Dikeakos Architects is now nearing completion. With most of the towers' signature, gold-tinted glass now in place, it will not belong before the Midas touch comes to Metrotown.

The "twin" 41- and 26-storey residential high-rises can be found at 6377 McKay Ave, close to many local shops, restaurants, and other essential services, including rapid transit via Metrotown Station. Gold House will bring a combined 302 condo units to the area, thereby representing a total influx of close to 500 new residents.

The podiums' soaring ceiling heights will allow for the inclusion of large retail components, in addition to a full range of building amenities. Thus to form something of a local hub, the base of the towers will be a hive of activity once the project is complete.

Moving down to street level, it is evident that a great deal of the podium-level cladding is now underway, the base of the towers to be somewhat subdued relative to the 24-carat treatment featured prominently above. Once finished, Gold House will be a fine addition to Metrotown and Burnaby generally, the Vancouver suburb in the midst of a massive urban transformation.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
