Two months since our last update, and progress at Concord Pacific's The Arc has been moving along swimmingly. That is, the Francl Architecture-designed 29-storey residential high-rise, famous for its namesake arc configuration, and of course, for its suspended, glass-bottom pool, is now nearing completion.

The 588-unit residential development will soon be home to over 800 new residents, The Arc's prime downtown location (to say nothing of its striking design and aforementioned pool), to make this a quick sell. Located in the heart of Yaletown, walking distance to Granville Street, Gastown, the waterfront, and the SkyTrain, The Arc will be a popular urban address for years to come.

Moving down to street level, it is apparent that the bulk of the remaining exterior work can be found along the various ground-floor entryways and window bays that line the base of the structure. Those with an eagle-eye for detail, however, will be sure to spot the small amount of missing spandrel that remains to be installed within the underbelly of archway (above).

A truly landmark project for the city, The Arc, with its trademark undulating exterior, will long be an icon of the Vancouver skyline.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
