Just a few weeks since our last update, and progress at the "twin" tower Cardero high-rise project in downtown Vancouver has moved steadily forward. Designed by Henriquez Partners Architects for Bosa Properties, the conjoined, 26- and 21-storey residential tower has now risen well above its 3/4 point, the development to soon reach its full 81-metre height.

Located, as the name implies, at the corner of Cardero and W Georgia/W Pender, the two-volume tower has been designed to hug the curve of both W Georgia and W Pender Streets. Facilitated in large part by the tower's "split," the full effect ought to be quite striking.

The 119-unit Cardero will be anchored by a shared, multi-storey podium, which will be host to 45,000 sq. ft. of office space spread across three floors, with the ground floor left for retail. The future home for upwards of 200 residents, Cardero will be a prime address for those looking for a central location close to local amenities and transit.

For residents, there will be a lounge, fitness centre, and sixth floor rooftop deck with BBQs and an outdoor terrace. Situated close to Coal Harbour, Cardero will also be an attractive commercial address for businesses looking to attract young, urban professionals.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
