Four months since our last update, and progress at the site of Alfa in central Richmond has been moving along swiftly. The 15-storey, 109-unit residential high-rise by Andrew Cheung Architects Inc. now stands at least 4 levels above grade, its large podium now close to full height.

Located at 8151 Anderson Rd, near the intersection of No. 3 Rd and Granville Ave, Alfa will place residents within close proximity to the Brighouse SkyTrain station, in addition to the many restaurants and big box stores that line the ever-popular CF Richmond Centre nearby. Well-situated close to transit and local services, Alfa will be a popular address for those looking for a mix of high-rise living and suburban convenience.

Encompassing a multi-level parking garage and a single row of ground-floor retail, the podium base will support the entirety of the attached multi-volume residential tower. For its part, the tower will be arranged in layers, thus allowing for the eventual placement of multiple rooftop terraces and gardens.

Once complete, Alfa will be a fine addition to Richmond, the Vancouver suburb quickly transforming to meet the demands of a growing city.

SkyriseVancovuer will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
