A month since we last checked in at Sun Towers at Metrotown, and progress has been moving steadily along. The 41- and 26-storey development by Belford Properties has now begun to rise substantially above grade as the first few floors are now clearly visible from street level.

Promoted as the centerpiece of the "Golden Row" of condo developments clustered around the Metrotown SkyTrain station in central Burnaby, the Sun Towers project is on target to become something of a neighbourhood fixture or focal point.

Sun Towers will contain a total of 479 units spread across the two structures, with 285 in one, and 194 in the other. The development will host a large, 24,000 sq.-ft. amenity space, complete with a fitness centre, badminton court, golf simulator, and a 60-ft. pool - in addition to a lounge and dining room.

Sun Towers will be attached at its basepoint via a massive, multi-storey, mixed-use podium, to be known as The Centre at Sun Towers. The podium will be split between 70,000 sq. ft. of office space sitting overtop 30,000 sq. ft. of retail space at grade.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
