Six weeks since our last update, and the MEC Flagship store in downtown Vancouver has continued to fill out as cladding work continues. With much of the glass now in place, and the insulation and framing work not far behind, it will not be long now before the arrival of the structure's metallic outer shell, wooden accents, and signature green and white signage.

Located at E 2nd Ave and Quebec Street, just steps from the bustling intersection of 2nd and Main, the new MEC Flagship store will be well-situated within the downtown core. Close to transit and several of the city's most walkable commercial corridors, the development will serve its key clientele well.

The new three-storey MEC Flagship store will be the first of its kind since its previous location on West Broadway, which opened in 1995. The new location was designed by Proscenium Architecture & Interiors for Beedie Development, the structure on target to receive LEED Gold certification.

Owing to MEC's essential, outdoorsy character and mantra, the flagship has been designed using mainly sustainable materials, including wood, glass, and steel. Sure to be a beautiful space upon completion, the new MEC Flagship store will be a beacon of healthy, active, outdoor living.
