More than three months since our last update, and progress at the excavation site for 1335 Howe Street has continued at a steady pace. Excavators have dug down to what appears to be the bottom of the pit, the arrival of rebar on-site a clear indication that it will not be long now before the 40-storey development by Onni Group and IBI Group begins to rise.

Situated between Yaletown and Davie Village, and within close walking distance to the shops of Granville Street, 1335 Howe Street will soon be home to upwards of 180 residents spread across 120 units. While the majority of units will be found in the tower, a handful of rental apartments will be located throughout the relatively wide-set, 6-storey podium base.

The aforementioned podium will also be home to a strip of retail along Howe Street, thereby adding to the level of urban and pedestrian vibrancy that the development will entail. Suites will range from 1,000 to 8,000 square feet, while amenities will include a fitness centre, meeting rooms, lounges, and an outdoor pool deck and terrace.

Along with the broad range of suite sizes and configurations, units will be fully customize-able, meaning that buyers will have the unusual option of merging two or more units together. Once complete, 1335 Howe Street will be a fine addition to the core, one of several such projects to add its silhouette to the downtown skyline in recent years.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
