Seven months since our last update, and progress at 1335 Howe Street has been moving along swiftly. The former site of the Quality Inn Downtown, the 40-storey tower by Onni Group and IBI Group will soon be home to upwards of 200 new residents spread across a mix of condo and rental units.

Located between Davie Village and Yaletown, just a block off of the bustling Granville corridor, 1335 Howe Street will place residents within the heart of downtown Vancouver, close to many of the city's main attractions and destinations. For now, however, crews are busy digging out the foundations of the tower, it to still be many more months until the structure begins its ascent.

While the bulk of residential condo units will be placed in the 40-storey tower, there will be an additional collection of rental units placed within the 6-storey podium base, the ground floor of which will be dedicated to retail. Regular units will range from roughly 1,000-1,700 square feet, while the 8,000 square feet of amenities will include a 1,600 square-foot fitness centre, meeting rooms, lounging areas, and an outdoor pool deck and rooftop terrace.

Most unusual for a development of this type, residential units will be fully customizable, meaning that buyers will have the option to combine two suites into one. This option could see units as large at 6,000 square feet, making for a very comfortable penthouse suite right in the centre of Downtown Vancouver.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
