Three weeks since our last update, and progress at the site of Prime on the Plaza in Surrey has been moving along nicely. The 37-storey, 398-unit, residential high-rise is now almost complete, with work crews busy tackling a host of finishing touches ahead of the upcoming move-in date.

Designed by Bingham Hill Architects for Macdonald Development Corporation and Reliance Properties, the tower has been made distinctive owing to its undulating "columns" of spandrel-encased windows, which run nearly the entire height of the structure.

Units here begin on the small end, with micro-units starting at 295 square feet, with the largest clocking in at just under 800 - likely highlighting the development's appeal to singles and young couples. This being said, the 16,000 square-foot amenity space will include a gym, wellness area, steam room, private music study rooms, theatre, and lounge.

Prime on the Plaza is located along University Drive in Surrey, within easy walking distance to several main attractions, including the Surrey Central Library, SFU, and Surrey Central Station. Located in the midst of several big box stores and popular chain restaurants, the development will be popular among young professionals looking for a fast commute and urban/suburban neighbourhood feel.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
