Three months since we last checked in at the site of PortLiving's Midtown Modern and progress has been moving along slowly but surely. Glazing work appears to be more or less complete, while cladding has yet to move into its final stages.

Designed by Studio B Architects, the Mount Pleasant-area development will bring 50 residential units and a strip of ground floor retail to 630 East Broadway. Spread across four storeys, the residential and retail components of the development will fit well together, the top floor stepped back both to reduce its footprint, and to allow for additional outdoor space for residents of the upper levels.

The fourth floor penthouse suites will feature private rooftop decks, accessed via a series of spiral staircases as pictured in the rendering below. Midtown Modern will be faced mostly with flat cement or stone panels, the rest of the facade to be accented by glass.

Righteously close to Dude Chilling Park, and just a short walk away from the shops of South Main St and E Broadway, Midtown Modern will be a popular destination for buyers looking for a relaxed urban vibe.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
