While at first glance, little appears to have changed at the site of Midtown Modern since our last update in May, a closer look reveals the presence of the recent glazing work now underway. Located at 630 East Broadway, the Studio B Architects-designed, 4-storey, 50-unit, residential block by PortLiving is set to become the latest addition to Mount Pleasant.

Viewed above and below, the glazing work has given the structure a more filled-in look, those familiar with the project better able to envision the finished product.

To eventually be clad in a mix of spandrel and glass, Midtown Modern will feature three floors of residential living stacked atop a ground-floor retail level fronting onto E Broadway. Spiral staircases will provide passage from the the top-floor penthouse suites to the accompanying private rooftop terraces.

Just a skateboard ride away from Dude Chilling Park, and the shops of South Main Street and the E Broadway corridor, the project is well-situated for those looking for a more relaxed vibe within the heart of the city.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
