Three months since our last update, and progress at the site of The Amazing Brentwood has been moving steadily along, the two-tower first phase of the development now all but structurally complete. Part of an 11-tower build out by Shape Properties, phase one consists of two high-rise residential towers anchored by a large multi-storey entertainment complex.

Adjacent to Brentwood Town Centre, and accompanying SkyTrain station, the aptly-named Amazing Brentwood represents one of several multi-tower, high-density developments to call Burnaby home. The first two towers, with the tallest slated for 63 storeys, will soon welcome home several hundred new residents, the project on target to bring a total of 6,000 new units to the area.

While work continues on both towers, there is a clear winner in terms of first to reach the top, the tower above still to top off, while its sibling below appears to be somewhat further along. While phase one continues its ascent, glazing and cladding work have been ongoing, the towers to be covered in a glass curtain wall punctuated by repeating levels of condo balconies.

The Amazing Brentwood will eventually be home to 1.1 million square feet of retail, the first wave of which will be the Cineplex VIP and REC Room, thereby guaranteeing early satisfaction for resident movie and video game buffs looking for a way to pass a rainy West Coast afternoon.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
