Coming soon to Brentwood Town Centre, the aptly-named The Amazing Brentwood is continuing to dazzle passersby as the first phase of the 11-tower, mixed-use, residential development nears completion in Burnaby. Complete with high-rises, restaurants, retail, and a full-blown entertainment complex, the development by Shape Properties will eventually become a city unto itself, with residents and visitors alike to have easy access thanks to the close proximity of the adjacent Brentwood Town Centre SkyTrain station.

The first phase of the project will consist of two high-rise residential towers, the highest of which will reach 63 storeys. Equipped with ample ground-floor retail, and supplemented by the addition of a series of interconnected commercial complexes, the full 11-tower build-out will eventually become home 6,000 residents and more than 120 separate retailers, for a combined total of 1.1 million square feet of retail space.

Designed by a team of international architects, including James KM Cheng ArchitectsMusson Cattell Mackey Partnership, and Stantec, The Amazing Brentwood will be the second such super development for the L Catterton venture capital group, which represents the world's largest development fund with more than $14 billion (USD) in capital, with many luxury projects in Asia.

For the first phase, buyers will have to satiate their shopping and entertainment needs with two fashion anchor stores, a collection of chain restaurants, and a Cineplex VIP and REC Room - the combination of which should be more than enough keep residents occupied until the subsequent phases are completed over the next few years.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
