Four months since we last checked in at the site of Escala in Burnaby and progress at the 42-storey tower and townhouse complex has been moving along swiftly, with exterior finishing work now well underway. Located north of BC HWY 7 adjacent to Willingdon Heights Park in Brentwood, the 520-unti development will soon deliver up to 800 new residents to within walking distance of Gillmore SkyTrain station.

Viewed above, the tower will be host to a large, 15,000 square-foot amenity space known as the Escala Club. The space will include a fitness centre, yoga studio, fireside social lounge, catering kitchen, pool table, ping pong tables, music room, and two hotel-style guest suites.

Escala consists of 369 high-rise units held within the tower, and 151 homes within the two-structure Terra component which flanks the base of the project. Offering a mix of unit sizes and layouts in addition to a generous provision of amenities, Escala will be a popular buy for those looking to live in style in central Burnaby.

Set to wrap in early 2019, Escala will be a welcome addition to Brentwood, the neighbourhood now in the midst of a large scale urban renaissance.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
