Progress at Concord Pacific's The Arc has been swift since our last update in May, the Francl Architecture-designed twin-tower development having now been connected by its signature capstone - or arc. Distinctive for its unique "gateway" design, The Arc's crowning achievement, so to speak, will soon be home to a glass-bottom pool, the amenity space to provide residents with (literally) breathtaking views of the Vancouver skyline.
Located at the heart of Yaletown in downtown Vancouver, 29-storey The Arc will deliver 588 residential units to the core, for a total of more than 800 new residents. Walking distance to the SkyTrain, along with the shops, cafes, and restaurants of nearby Robson and Granville Streets, The Arc is centrally located with easy access to all the city has to offer.
Looking up, The Arc's gentle swoop is complemented by the inclusion of multi-coloured spandrel panels interspersed among the glazing work, which give the tower a punch of added visual interest. Up top, the platform bridge capstone will also be home to the building's other amenity spaces, which will be spread across three floors.
Down below, the ground-floor level of The Arc will be occupied by a mix of retail and restaurant space, thereby adding to the pedestrian environment at street level. Once complete, The Arc will be a welcome addition to the downtown core, bringing some much needed residential inventory to downtown Vancouver.
SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
