Following the demise of the low-rise commercial structure that once occupied the corner of Main and E 5th Ave, progress at the future site of Elenore on Fifth has now gotten well underway since the time of our last update. Situated just a few blocks north of Mount Pleasant along the bustling Main Street corridor, Elenore on Fifth as designed by Proscenium Architecture for Chard Developments will eventually become home to eight storeys of residential living placed atop a multi-unit retail podium with frontage onto both Main and E 5th Ave.

While it is still early days, the excavation work now underway will soon give way to construction, the images above and below offering a good measure of the scope of the project soon to rise.

Located within visual range of the North Shore mountains, the residential tower portion of the development has been designed with an unusual, off-kilter alignment (visible below) which will allow area residents to retain their million dollar postcard views.

Slated for completion in 2019, the 58-unit development will feature a host of amenities alongside the planned retail podium, the addition of a fully functioning green roof, complete with children's play areas and garden plots for the adults, to give the project a notably sustainable, Vancouveresque appeal to potential buyers.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
