The site at 660 Quayside Drive, also known as the Larco site, was recently rezoned in order to establish a Comprehensive Development Master Plan for the future development of the site. In response to changing community values, and in order to move forward with implementing the City’s waterfront vision, the City and the property owner worked collaboratively to create a concept plan which will guide development of the site into the future.
The Master Plan has greater provision for open space and views of the Fraser River, the provision of approximately 2 acres of land for an extension of the Westminster Pier Park, an extended waterfront esplanade, three rather than five highrise towers, and a mix of land uses including residential, commercial, child care, and the provision for a 150 room hotel.
Special development permits and building permits will need to be approved by the City prior to any work taking place on the site.
