Another mid-rise project within the booming Cambie Corridor has completed construction. Recent photos uploaded to our Forum show The Parker by Townline and ZGF Cotter Architects has taken shape two years after the controversial demolition of Oakridge United Church, a 1949-built local landmark the new building replaced.

The 47-home development at the northwest corner of West 41st Avenue and Elizabeth Street puts residents within walking distance to the Oakridge Centre and the 130-acre Queen Elizabeth Park and the popular Bloedel Conservatory.

Two- and three-bedroom homes at The Parker offer between 1,008 and 1,334 square feet of living space. There are also a selection of smaller one-bedroom suites. Engineered hardwood flooring, Gaggenau kitchen appliances, and quartz countertops come standard.

The six-storey building provides a new home of over 6,000 square feet for the displaced Oakridge United Church. The old Twizell & Twizell-designed church was listed on Heritage Vancouver Society's 'threat list' in 2015 before its demolition three years later. Stained glass and wood from the old structure has been salvaged and incorporated into the ground-level of the building.
