A two-tower development currently on the rise will bring additional density to the border between Coquitlam and Burnaby. Hensley by Cressey Development Group replaces a low-slung apartment complex at 450 Westview Street in West Coquitlam with a 35-storey market residential tower and a 22-storey rental building.
The 264-unit condominium is architecturally defined by a jagged deployment of columns that break up the glazing and balcony arrangements. A three-storey glass-enclosed penthouse amenity space occupies the top floors of the structure, which is topped by a flat cantilevered roof element. An offering of 16 Skyhomes situated in the middle of the building span two floors and feature spacious terraces.
Hensley residents will also have a ground-level health club to unwind in, which includes steam and sauna rooms, a fully equipped fitness centre, and an outdoor pool with cabanas and a covered hot tub.
Photos uploaded to our Forum show how the Chris Dikeakos Architects-designed project is taking shape, as both towers now rise above grade. Window wall has been applied to the lower levels of the main tower and the oblique concrete columns are now having a distinct visual impact. The development, climbing behind Cariboo Centre shopping mall, is expected to begin occupancy later this year.
SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
