The site of Imani Development's Akimbo project has been cleared. This unique building is designed by IBI Group and will feature angled offset balconies. Located at the northwest corner of Dawson Street and Madison Avenue in Burnaby, Akimbo will replace a two-storey industrial building.

Akimbo will stand 40 storeys tall with retail spaces on the ground floor, office space on the second and third floors, and market strata units on floors four through 40. There will be 69 studio, 102 one-bedroom, 35 one-bedroom plus den, 69 two-bedroom, 59 two-bedroom plus den, and 16 three-bedroom units.

Akimbo is located in Burnaby's West Central Valley, which has experienced tremendous growth in the last decade. Recently completed projects include the Dawson, the Fulton House, Solo District - Stratus, and Solo District - Altus. Located within a 10-minute walk of the Gilmore and Brentwood Town Centre SkyTrain stations, as well as within a short drive of Highway 1 and the Lougheed Highway, residents of this development will be able to easily travel downtown, to the Tri-Cities, and beyond.
