The current Four Seasons Hotel at Downtown Vancouver's CF Pacific Centre will be ceasing operations at the end of the month, but the building won't stay empty for long. Commercial property owner Cadillac Fairview has announced that a new "world-leading, luxury lifestyle hotel brand" will be occupying the 370-room Four Seasons space.

Cadillac Fairview says the Pacific Centre complex will welcome "a new hospitality and entertainment offering reflective of Vancouver's current stature as a premier tourism and business destination."

"With today's announcement we are once again contributing to the fabric of the City by introducing an exciting and vibrant hospitality concept to our landmark property that will solidify it as the destination of choice in downtown Vancouver," said Tom Knoepfel, Senior Vice President, Western Portfolio, Cadillac Fairview. "CF Pacific Centre will be home to a leading global hotel and entertainment brand that will be unique not only in Vancouver, but the rest of Canada."

The CF Pacific Centre shopping mall opened in 1971. Cadillac Fairview is the largest commercial property owner in Vancouver, overseeing an expansive portfolio of more than four million square feet of retail and office space. The company's last major development transformed the former Sears box at CF Pacific Centre into a mixed-use site currently home to several global brands including Nordstrom, Microsoft and Sony Imageworks.

Cadillac Fairview is also redeveloping the rotunda at CF Pacific Centre into a new 14,000-square-foot, two-storey pavilion that will house additional premier retail brands.

Preliminary work is expected to begin this spring.
