1754-1772 Pendrell Street, also known as "Pendrell", is a new residential project in Vancouver's West End neighbourhood. The development is now substantially complete with the recent full addition of exterior cladding and other finishing touches. Rising 21 storeys, Pendrell will feature a total of 178 residential units and an amenity pavilion house in a separate building.

Upon completion, Pendrell will feature both market rate and subsidized units which will cater to Vancouver's ever-evolving socioeconomic disparity. The building contains a total of 178 residential rental units, 152 of which will be market rate, with the remaining 26 units reserved for below market rate pricing. Of the 152 market rate units, there will be 43 studio, 37 one-bedroom, 50 two-bedroom, and 22 three-bedroom units. Of the 26 below market rate units, there will be seven studio, 14 one-, two two-bedroom units, and three three-bedroom units.

The aforementioned below market units will be secured for 30 years at 20 percent below the average West End rent prices. Additionally, Pendrell will feature 82 spaces for resident parking across three underground levels and 219 bicycle parking spaces.

Developed by Westbank Corp, and designed by Henriquez Partners Architects, Pendrell features a very modern and unique exterior look. With a concerted emphasis on glass materials, the project fits right in with many of Vancouver's signature skyscrapers. Due to Pendrell's close proximity to English Bay, many balconies are included in this development as views in almost every direction are sure to be nothing short of spectacular.

Pendrell topped out at the beginning of this year with additional work on both exterior cladding and interior finishings gradually being completed in the months since. Fast forward to now, and Pendrell is all but complete with occupancy imminent.

Pendrell will make an excellent addition to the neighbourhood with its unique design and wide range of unit sizes and prices. Future residents will have access to all the West End has to offer with close proximity to many commercial amenities, public transportation and all the recreation of English Bay.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
