A rental tower quickly rising in the heart of North Vancouver is within close reach of topping out. The Lonsdale by Hollyburn Properties and designed by Francl Architecture is adding a 19-storey peak to the North Shore skyline, bringing 144 new rental apartments with it.

Photos uploaded to the SkyriseVancouver Forum tell the story of the highrise project, which anchors the corner of 13th Street and Lonsdale Avenue with a two-storey podium. A combined total of 29,173 square feet of office space and ground-level retail space will occupy these first two floors. Starbucks has already been announced as one of the primary tenants in the building.

The tower, set further back from the podium and the intersection, features a curvilinear western face that has largely taken shape. Piers of precast cladding add a sense of verticality to the building, as grey and white spandrel and windows fill the gaps.

The Lonsdale's amenity package is designed to reflect the lifestyle of the North Shore. A fully equipped fitness centre with floor-to-ceiling windows occupies the top floor, while a wraparound rooftop terrace offers residents a view-laden social experience.

The Lonsdale will be topping out in the coming weeks, and is currently on track for delivery in 2020.
