A full year since our last update, and it would appear that excavation work is now substantially complete at the future Bosa Waterfront Centre site. Following the demise of the former parking garage that long occupied the corner of Granville and W Cordova, crews have dug down in preparation for the rise of the 30-storey office tower by Bosa Development, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, and Chris Dikeakos Architects.

With the lot now temporarily empty, the sheer scope of the project can be well-appreciated, its prime location to be of major benefit in terms of attracting top-tier commercial tenants. Just steps to the Waterfront SkyTrain, and the North Vancouver ferry dock, and in close proximity as well to Granville Street, Gastown, and Coal Harbour, the Bosa Waterfront Centre will be a prime commercial address for years to come.

All told, the Bosa Waterfront Centre will deliver 355,000 sq. ft. of AAA office space to the core, the base of the tower to be outfitted with a mix of full-service and fast food dining options plus retail. With space thus for hundreds of daily office workers and support staff, the Bosa Waterfront Centre will bring a great deal of additional pedestrian activity to the core.

With its floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall, and swooping, undulated exterior, the Bosa Waterfront Centre will soon be an iconic part of the downtown skyline. Once complete, the project will serve the city well, the addition of high-quality office space to the core to be a welcome change of pace from the usual parade of condos.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
