At 17 storeys, the 219-unit River Park Place development now nearing completion in Richmond will soon be one of the tallest in the vicinity of the Richmond Olympic Oval and the Fraser River. Overlooking the riverfront, and the adjacent YVR just across, the Intracorp- and MYIE Homes-built, IBI Group-designed River Park Place will soon be home to upwards of 300 new residents.
Arranged as a more or less rectangular quadrant of interconnected structures, ranging from the 17-storey tower to single-family townhomes, the dynamic River Park Place has something on offer for every type of buyer. Furthermore, in terms of amenity space, the changing volumes have allowed for multiple rooftop terraces, in addition to a host of indoor spaces, including a fitness centre, yoga studio, basketball court, music room, media room, and study room.
Viewed from the rear, the inclusion of a multi-storey above ground parking garage will help keep costs down, in addition to providing ample room for cars, bicycles, and storage lockers. While it is not completely clear from the renderings, it does look as though there will be some room left over at grade for retail bays, which if true, would help bring some additional pedestrian vibrancy to the area.
Located close to transit via both Landsdowne and Richmond-Brighouse SkyTrain stations, and close as well to the CF Richmond Centre, and the aforementioned YVR, River Park Place will be a prime address for international travelers, daily commuters, frequent shoppers, and riverfront joggers alike.
SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
