Only a month since we last checked in at Quartet, now on the rise in Vancouver's River District, and progress has been moving along nicely. The 18-storey, multi-volume, multi-height, mixed-use, development by Wesgroup and GBL Architects is now almost structurally complete, with only a few more floors still to go.

Following close behind, cladding and glazing work has also nearly reached completion, with just a few top floors, and some finishing touches left to complete. Located in the ever-growing River District in southern Vancouver, close to the Burnaby border, the 258-unit Quartet will soon be home to upwards of 300 new residents.

Units will come in a variety of sizes and configurations, including 93 one-, 161 two-, and 4 three-bedroom units. The complex will sit atop a 3-level underground parking garage with space for 500 cars and 357 bicycles.

Being a mixed-use development, the bulk of the first four floors will be dedicated to retail, with the majority of residential units left for floors 5-18. Once complete, the mix ought to serve both the structure and its surroundings well, the River District quickly becoming a desirable, if previously overlooked, corner of the city.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
