A project by Reliance Properties at 1188 Bidwell Street will add much-needed rental accommodations in Vancouver’s West End. Designed by DIALOG, the building design draws inspiration from the history and character of the West End's Modernist towers. When completed, the tower will rise to 22 storeys, offering sweeping views of English Bay to the south, Stanley Park to the west, and the North Shore Mountains to the north.
The building will contain 108 secured market rental units (2nd to 22nd floors), and three retail units at ground level. The apartment will consist of 22 studio, 59 one-, 23 two-, and 4 three-bedroom units. Large windows will allow plenty of natural light, and every unit will have access to a balcony. Residential amenities will include a rooftop deck on the 22nd floor, indoor lounge rooms, a fitness studio, car wash and bike repair facilities, and a children's play area. The building will also be pet-friendly.
There will be 74 car parking and 133 bike parking spaces in 4 levels of underground parking. Future residents will be living within easy access of shopping, restaurants, and cultural venues on Davie and Denman Streets, and within a 10-minute walk of the West End Community Centre, in addition to several beaches and parks.
This building will join a number of others currently under construction in the area, including 1754-1772 Pendrell Street, English Bay Residences, Mirabel, the project at 1523 Davie Street (Gabriola Mansion), and the mixed-use project at 1661 Davie Street - all within 500 metres.
Additional information along with renderings of the tower can be found in our database file for the project, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion? Check out the associated Forum threads, or leave a comment in the space provided at the bottom of this page.
