More than a year following the completion of 569 Great Northern Way, and work has now concluded at the associated pavilion. Covered in a bright red canopy, the 3,000 square-foot space creates an excellent outdoor room experience for users, its glass construction allowing for panoramic views of its surroundings.

Designed by Perkins + Will for PCI Group, 569 Great Northern Way is part of the larger redevelopment project at the new Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Located along Great Northern Way, just east of the city centre, the entire project was well-integrated into transit, a move which has dramatically transformed and enhanced the local streetscape.

To these ends, the project can be considered a success. The 160,000 sq.ft. office space fits well into its surroundings, its gentle swoop catching the natural curve of the main road. Furthermore, considering the recent completion of the pavilion, and it appears that the right balance between form, function, and whimsy has been struck.

Looking back to the original designs, it is clear that the project's execution has remained true to the initial vision. The now complete 569 Great Northern Way will more than likely be a positive force within the district or years to come.
