Excavation continues on the site of a future market rental apartment development at 1755 West 14th Avenue. Development is by Bentall Kennedy LLP, with design by Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership. Plans call for the construction of a 12-storey building with a gross floor area of 131,211 sq ft. There will be 116 market rental residential units, with 69 one-bedroom and 47 two-bedroom units.

Unusually for Vancouver, the building will not contain any studio units. There will be four levels of parking, including three below grade, with a total of 61 vehicle parking spaces. As well, there will be 145 bicycle parking spaces. Two rental units will also be added to the existing rental apartment building onsite.

There will be an amenity room with kitchen facilities inside the building, and outside there will be amenity space including that suitable for children’s play activity. The developer has offered a Community Amenity Contribution of $2,170,845, which will be used for local serving amenity services.

The site has excellent 91 Walk Score, with ample access to parks and transit. It is steps away from Granville Park, and 500 metres from Granville and its restaurants, shops, and bus lines. The Broadway bus lines are 700 metres away, and the 16th Ave bus lines are 350 metres from the site.
