Three months since we last checked in at the site of Synchro at Broadway and Main, and progress has been moving along well. The 5-storey, 29-unit, residential mid-rise block by Bold Properties and Ankenman Marchand Architects has now achieved structural completion, its decorative red metallic cladding, multi-coloured spandrel, and brick lower level accents, now all in place.

Located at Broadway and Main, close to transit and two bustling commercial corridors, Synchro is on target to deliver upwards of 50 new inhabitants to the area. Units start at $1.6 million, reflective no doubt of the project's prime location close to False Creek and the future Broadway Subway.

Viewed in detail above, Synchro - as the name implies - brings together several different design elements. Corrugated metal mixes with spandrel and brick, each in their own way picking up on the colour scheme of the other. Complex exterior volumes have also been used to great effect, allowing for a mix of private and public spaces.

Moving around to the back, Synchro makes ample use of setbacks, thereby making space for a series of outdoor terraces. Once complete, Synchro will likely be a hot commodity, its steep price point not likely to be a deterrent within Vancouver's overheated property market.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
