Two months since we last checked in at the site of Concord Gardens in Richmond, and progress has been moving along well. The last two structures of the 6-part mega-development have now all but reached structural completion, with crews soon to move inside for interior finishing work.

Situated at the confluence of Garden City Road and Sea Island Way, Concord Gardens is typical of Richmond's recent building boom as the Vancouver suburb continues to add density and height. Well-located within easy reach of the SkyTrain and numerous big box stores and restaurants, Concord Gardens will be a popular address for those looking for walkability and an easy commute into the city.

In its entirety, the GBL Architects-designed Concord Gardens by Concord Pacific will be soon be home to 1,200 units, representing a potential total influx of upwards of 2,000 new inhabitants. The last two structures, at 15 and 16 storeys apiece, will go a good way towards rounding out these figures.

In many ways, Concord Gardens is on target to become a neighbourhood in its own right. Set to include a pool, fitness centre, and theatre spread across 25,000 square feet of indoor amenity space, to say nothing of the additional 75,000 square feet of outdoor space dedicated to parks, paths, and a children's playground, the mega-development will have something to offer for everyone.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
