The project will have four blocks, A, B, C, and D, when finished. Plans continue to evolve, with a development permit change approved in October 2018 to allow an additional 2 storeys to Block A, bringing the total height to 8 storeys. As well, this would increase the building’s residential area by 17,691 sq ft, for a total of 296,847 sq ft. The number of residential units has increased from 215 to 236. These will be divided into 111 market rental units, 75 non-market rental units, and 50 seniors rental units.

In addition to the residential component, the Block A building will contain roughly 70,000 sq ft of commercial and office space, which will include a Safeway grocery store and a restaurant. Plans for Block B remain the same, and it will be 7 storeys when complete and contain 170 market rental units, as well as a Bank of Montreal and a BC Liquor.  Blocks C and D are also still in the permitting process, with recent increases to be featured in our upcoming Arbutus Centre Update: Part 2 write-up tomorrow.
