A month since our last update, and progress at the site of the Imperial Metrotown in Burnaby has been moving along swiftly. The Amacon-built, 26-storey high-rise is now all but topped-off, with only about a floor or two to go before it reaches its final height.

But the latest in an ever-growing collection of high-rise developments to call Burnaby's Metrotown neighbourhood home over the last few years, the Imperial Metrotown will place residents only a short distance away from the Metropolis at Metrotown, along with the Metrotown SkyTrain station. The 169-unit project will soon deliver an addition 250 residents to the area, the tower the perfect fit for those looking for a mix of urban and suburban living, along with convenient access to shops, services, and transit.

Glazing and cladding work has been moving along steadily, the tower to be covered in a mix of grey and dark blue spandrel and glass. Generous balconies will give residents sweeping views of the surrounding skyline, as will the planned rooftop amenity deck and terrace.

Down at street level, the inclusion of a small collection of more traditional townhouse units will serve to provide buyers with a full range of housing options from studios to three-bedrooms. Indeed, townhouse additions have proven popular in Burnaby and other suburban areas, helping to provide a middle ground between single family homes and high-density condo units.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
