It's been a year since the last update, and excavation is progressing at Marcon Developments' Mirabel at 1345 Davie Street. The project, designed by Henriquez Partners Architects, will add market and social housing to Vancouver’s vibrant West End neighbourhood.

Spread between two 18- and 19-storey towers connected by a three-storey podium, there will be a total of 221 housing units, including 153 market and 68 social. Both types of units will consist of a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. There will be 257 car parking spaces over four levels of underground parking as well as 283 bike parking spaces. Residents of Mirabel will be within walking distance of shops and restaurants on Davie and Denman streets, as well as English Bay, the seawall and the West End Community Centre.

Market housing amenities will include storage lockers, a rooftop patio, a fitness centre, and urban garden plots. Social housing tenants will have access to indoor and outdoor shared amenity spaces including a children’s playground. One of the defining design features are the staggered balconies adding visual interest as well as providing privacy and shading the building and keeping it cooler.
