As work crews busy themselves putting the finishing touches together at the site of Westbank's all but complete Kensington Gardens, our Forum has come alive with reports of delays plaguing the the move-in dates for several buyers, many of whom report push-backs of anywhere from two weeks to two months. For while possession delays are nothing new in today's condo market, the majority of commentators have cited a frustrating lack of communication on top of the aforementioned delays, thus adding fuel to the fire of negative speculation directed towards what should ultimately be a much more positive customer experience.

Rumour mill aside, recent photos tell the story of a development that by all external appearances, looks to be yet a few weeks away from being ready for prime time. As recently as last week, fencing and hoarding were on-site, the main entrance and entire lower level of the development still very much a work in progress.

This being said, the laying of pavers, installation of new lampposts, and signs of future landscaping and tree-planting, are encouraging, this type of detail work generally among the last of the finishing touches to be completed at a development of this size.

Moving around to the Kingsway frontage, the empty retail bays similarly tell the story of a development that has still some way to go before it is 100% operational. Encouraging further still, the most recent posts on our Forum report news of completed walk-throughs, meaning that despite the delays, some buyers at least have begun the process, signalling that more and more owners will soon be paired with their long-awaited units.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
